Impact

The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are funded through the Department of Education to conduct outreach and student support services, primarily to historically underserved and underrepresented populations.

The Cal Poly Educational Talent Search (ETS) program is funded to serve 500 students in grades six through twelve at seven target school sites. The goal of ETS is to support junior high and high school youth in graduating from high school and preparing for college through interactive workshops and informational sessions, connections to tutoring resources, financial aid and scholarship assistance, and individual counseling, among other services.

2019-20 Outcomes

• The Cal Poly Educational Talent Search Program achieved a 99% graduation rate.
• The Cal Poly Educational Talent Search Program achieved a 86% postsecondary enrollment rate.
• The Cal Poly Educational Talent Search Program achieved a 91% Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion rate.
